Chaste Tree Berry

We prefer this brand because…...

This is the most effective chaste tree berry formula we've used in our clinic for hormonal balancing. It is rich in the active constituent aucubin, the one that brings the most potent effect, standardized to a high percentage. And aucubin is enhanced by a concentrate of whole chaste tree berry that has a synergistic effect, amplifying the potency. Because no single constituent is responsible for chaste berry's medicinal effects, and many parts need to work together for the best effect, we find this to be a particularly balanced and potent blend. The whole berry has numerous other medicinal compounds. These include essential oils that give chaste berry its distinctive spicy aroma: limonene, eucalptol, myrcene and pinene; iridoid glycosides including agnuside which is another highly effective compound; and flavonoids including apigenin which has been identified as having estrogen-balancing effects. Our patients have received excellent results for premenstrual and perimenopausal symptoms, and we also use this specific brand with women taking bio-identical hormones for more even blood estrogen levelsThis company is a long-time specialist in herbs and nutrients for women's health, with deep expertise in formulating herbs for maximum medicinal benefit.

About chaste tree berry

Chaste trees are native to the Mediterranean area and southern Europe, and the berries have been used since Greek, Roman and medieval times for female health. Chaste berry is an adaptogen, meaning it is a botanical that encourages and restores normal function: it will either enhance a deficiency or calm over-activity, whichever is needed, an example of the intelligence of nature! It works on the pituitary, the master gland which oversees ovary function and blood hormone balance, possibly to stabilize FSH and LH production. Several European studies have shown that chaste berry extract can boost blood progesterone levels, which can ease PMS, and possibly slow down frequent perimenopausal periods. Chaste tree berry research indicates that it can also reduce prolactin secretion from the pituitary, helping premenstrual breast tenderness linked to excess prolactin. In addition, chaste berry constituents including the flavonoid apigenin can bind selectively to estrogen receptors, mimicking the good effects of estrogen, to help menopausal symptoms. Clinical trials with chaste tree berry have shown up to 55% of patients getting significant relief from PMS-related irritability, headache and bloating.
